A starling is a member of the mynah bird family. Since mynahs imitate the songs of other birds, it became an appropriate name for our group. We have Herbie (founder, manager, & booking) on vocals & rhythm guitar, Josie on vocals & percussion, Mike on lead guitar, Randy on bass & vocals and Capt. Jim rounding out the group on drums & vocals.
Starling plays the type of classic and softer rock music that "takes you back" whether 50 years ago or just yesterday. Good music is timeless; from Van Morrison to the Eagles, from Fleetwood Mac to Sheryl Crow.
A rich blend of harmony and tasteful accompaniment keeps the vocals at the forefront of our performance.
We play in and around the Charleston, SC area ie. Mount Pleasant, Folly Beach, West Ashley, Walterboro, Hanahan, Goose Creek, Ladson, Summerville, Moncks Corner, Bonneau, St George, Ridgeville, & Cross.
With a variety of PA equipment, Starling is able to play public or private venues from an intimate setting to a small concert hall in and around the Charleston and Summerville, SC area.
